For our patients
Patient information
Everything you need to know before your visit to North Bello Medical Centre in Bellingen, NSW.
New patients
New patients are always welcome. To make your first visit smooth, please bring:
- Your Medicare card (and any concession or DVA card)
- A list of your current medications
- Any referral letters, scans or results you have
- Details of your previous GP, so we can request your records
Appointments & booking
Book online any time, or call us on 02 5627 6000. We're open seven days a week, including weekends, with same-week appointments usually available. If you have several issues to discuss, please ask for a longer appointment when you book.
Book an appointmentFees & billing
We bulk bill all eligible Medicare cardholders for standard consultations — no out-of-pocket cost. Some services (such as certain procedures, travel vaccinations, medicals and reports) may attract a private fee; reception will always let you know the cost before your appointment.
Repeat prescriptions & referrals
For your safety, repeat prescriptions and referrals usually require a short appointment so your doctor can review your care. Please book ahead rather than leaving it until your medication runs out.
Test results
Please make a follow-up appointment to discuss your results — it's the safest way to make sure nothing is missed. Our team will contact you if your doctor needs to see you sooner.
After hours & emergencies
Our clinic is not a 24-hour service. If you need help when we're closed:
- In an emergency, call 000 (ambulance, police, fire) — for chest pain, severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, or any life-threatening situation.
- healthdirect — 1800 022 222 (free, 24/7 health advice line staffed by registered nurses).
- Nearest emergency department: Coffs Harbour Health Campus (Coffs Harbour). Bellingen River District Hospital offers limited local services — call ahead.
Feedback & complaints
We welcome your feedback — it helps us improve. If something hasn't met your expectations, please let us know so we can put it right. You can speak with our reception team or ask for the Practice Manager:
If you feel your concern hasn't been resolved, you can contact the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) on 1800 043 159 or at hccc.nsw.gov.au.
